Friday's Fences

This is not the greatest picture, but it should have been.  I LOVE how the morning glories are so thick on the post and are reaching out along the fence.

I have had a love/hate relationship in my life   Mom always grew them at one end of the porch. Always loved them there.

But they were the bane of our existence otherwise.  They were in the garden, in the corn, in the tobacco.  They grew any and everywhere with no effort at all.  Always had to try to keep them hoed out of the garden and tobacco...always having to stoop and pull those up that were too close to the actual plant to risk using a hoe...though I have used a hoe and ended up cutting down a plant now and again.

Curling leaves

There is just something about the leaves hanging down on this hibiscus plant...I don't know just what it is but I like it.   Even if they aren't yellow or orange or red....or some other bright autumn color.

Weathered barn

I ran across this...as with any weathered barn, it appeals to me.  I would love to know what goes on on the other side of that door.  I always wonder why the windows are needed.

Autumn....

First, in regards to the gadget in the previous post, Carletta showed it to her hubby and he sat and looked and figured out it is a apple/peach peeler.  I want to thank them both.

Now, here is just a touch more of autumn color...
I am hoping autumn holds on a while longer...I want more time to get out and take pics.

A Splash of Color....

Taken earlier this week, at one of the exits of the strip pit area.  Sure was pretty, and bet by now that it is even more colorful.

Wings

During the Covered Bridge Festival, there is a flea market that opens up at Veedersburg, Indiana.  We ran up there Sunday after noon...this was one of two old planes I saw.  BTW, the price on it was $150.

Orange

Orange is the color of October and November for me...and I love shooting pumpkins, squash, gourds, etc.  And love seeing their pics on other blogs, or calendars...just anywhere.

Pink....

I just like the colors...for some reason I think of cotton candy when I look at this.

Bare bones....

We passed this yesterday....I have tried to capture it before but never have too much success.  It is on the highway.  So far we have not had the opportunity to even slow down.  I was pleasantly surprised with this one.  The roof is in really rough shape....I don't think anything would stay dry inside.

A juvenile....

We were headed north to Veedersburg...taking the long way there by going up 63, then cutting across at Cayuga.  I spotted his mom and pop and had Roger pull over...that is when he noticed this third.  I will have the mom and pop over at Pics & Pieces...the juvenile looked even bigger than the mom and dad....at least I assume they were the mom and dad.  S/he seemed bigger than either of them....I think if I looked out my door and seem them every day of my life that I would still be thrilled to see them.

Kind of strange...

I have started to post this several times..it is kind of strange.  Yet I kind of like it.  Maybe it is all those spider webs that I like.

Indiana barn....

We passed this barn last month on our way to the family reunion....I think Roger had time to actually pause while I snapped a couple shots.

Cloud show....

We were heading out yesterday, and noticed the clouds.  Being afraid they would not last, I had Roger take me to the nearest wide open space I could think of.  Below are some of the results...

Then looking more towards the east:

Hope you enjoyed the cloud show...but there is nothing like being there!  It was glorious.

Sketchers...

You could just call her twinkle toes....for the the toes have little lights that twinkle on and off as she walks.  And those laces...tie them once and be done.  The shoes have zippers!  So easy to get on and off.

Great Blue Heron

This is another view of the Great Blue Heron I seen at Mansfield, Indiana.  For some reason, a lot of times they remind me of old men in a great coat, all bundled up for cold weather.

Another 'mural' from Nashville, Indiana.

Technically, I guess they are not murals....but I called the first one that.  So will continue to do so.  I did know they they were not painted directly on the wall....but then Ginny said something about it.  I should have corrected myself on that post, but by that time I thought about doing it, it was late in the day.
I can't post a picture of it, without giving the credit due to the artist(s).  This was my other favorite from the wall.  I just simply love it.  Can you believe it is done by Junior High Art Classes...even with the help of a teacher.  It is fabulous.

Tennessee barn

Another Tennessee barn from two or three years ago.  Wouldn't you love to know just how old it is? Notice the vertical boards on the side.  This is one I think is fun to look at in the larger view.
