Air and gas....

Roger's air tank ran out a while back, and we just went last month and he exchanged it for a full one.  I cannot believe it was in October that we did that...but went and checked the date again just to make sure.  Time sure is flying.

Anyway, while we were there this truck pulled in with all these tanks.  I thought they made an interesting photo.

From a few years back

Not sure when I took this...I would love to know the history of this barn. I wonder if it has ever held tobacco, or was it only for holding hay and maybe the tractor.  You know it holds a lot of memories for someone.

Rurality blog post..

For my Rurality blog post, I am going back in time for my pics. I am showing picks from nearby Parke County of some of the Amish hard at work.
 These were taken in 2010.
And just for fun, nothing says rural to me quite like chickens!

Barn in autumn

This barn is just a few minutes from town...we pass it quite often.  Another one where it is a busy road, so this is a slow down a little bit shot since there is no place to really pull off.  It is a small barn.  What I really love is the big old sycamore beyond it.

Looks like work to me

We passed this the other day...there was something about the round wheels I liked.  I am not really sure why they made the picture appealing to me. Also, I am not sure how this is going to look on your computers.  I have messed with it and had it every which way.  The original just was not good.  I finally gave up and settled for this.

Amish buggy

The area surrounding Arthur, Illinois is occupied by a lot of Amish.  There are always buggies to be seen.We have drove around on the back roads of that area, and while there seems to be more houses without electricity than with, there is always traffic flying up and down the roads.  It makes it hard to get pictures of the farms or horses or clothes hanging on the lines.

Barn in evening light

This is another of those barns that I snap every time I pass by it.

Time for Friday's fences

Can you see the cat....you may need to click the photo to expand the view.  This was taken in the last couple of weeks.
This is through the windshield on the way to Sarah's.  It is hard to get a good shot going 60 mph. I still like the way this little barn is snuggled back agains the hillside.

Golden country...

I still have pics from this autumn that I haven't posted.  Just have to show this big tree...look how small the car looks in comparison.

Barn in evening glow....

Taken late this evening...on the way home from Arthur, Illinois.  I wish everyone out there could have seen the sky.
I just had to add this one...hopefully, you will get a feel for it by looking at this.

In Terre Haute...

This is across from the Old Mill Dam in Terre Haute...it is known as the Markle House.  I think it is privately owned now.  Click here to see my summer view of it.

From a wet afternoon in Terre Haute

Taken at the Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute last week.  I love seeing the dark trunk of the tree through all that gold.

Red barn in autumn

I loved the backdrop to this...and the fact that there is a horse in the doorway of the barn if you look close.  The barn is actually this bright.  It was recently painted.

Friday's fences

Can't believe it is time for Friday's fences again....not that that is bad.  Just seems like time passes so swiftly now.  Both of these were taken just last week.
One was taken with sunny weather and the other in misting rain..

Front porch in Bridgeton, Indiana

We were at Bridgeton Sunday evening...I had Roger pause long enough for me to snap a couple pics of this front porch.

Missing glass....

A run down little building we ran across the other day.
It is a rather small building so not sure what it was used for.   There was an old barn farther back but it was so grown up around it that we couldn't tell much about it.

Indiana farm

We saw this on a little drive we took yesterday...I don't think I could find it again.  It sure was a beautiful scene to find by chance.

HELP! It's fall and I can't quit

I just cannot resist posting fall photos...not that I have taken that many.
So many beautiful leaves....and so little time to photograph them in.

****************
We were to Sarah's this weekend....I will be catching up with everyone sometime tomorrow.  I will be posting some pics of Lo over at Pics & Pieces here shortly.  You will get a chuckle from them... Sarah sent them to me tonight.

Autumn reflections

We pass this pond on the way to and from seeing Sarah....I have wanted to stop and take a picture forever.  It is on a narrow road...if I have time to stop, invariably there will be someone behind us and there is no room to pull off the road.  Coming home today, I finally had the chance to snap a couple...

Mini Ranch

From Illinois.  Ran across this yesterday.  Just something about it that I love.  I wish it had not been raining till I could have gotten out of the car.
