Showing once again

I show this barn every winter...I look at these photos several times a year and love it every single time I look at it. They were taken in the winter of 1978-79.  They are scans of an B&W photos.  This barn was basically in our front yard.  Roger and I lived in the little house that belonged with this barn.  It has burned down since then, but was and always will be my favorite place on this earth.
While I was at it, I figured I might as well show the full view of the header photo...if you look real close out on past the right, you can see dried cornstalks.  That whole area there was our garden when we lived there.

Man-cave

When I started putting presents under the tree, I made sure and leave a space back under it for Bubbie.  I call it his man-cave, but he does not like it as much as he did before the presents were there.

Red-bellied woodpecker

The red-bellied woodpeckers have been back a while.  This was the first time she sat still long enough for me to snag a few pics.

A fence in autumn

This was taken in November of this year....just a random shot.  Something about it appeals to me.

Drive-by for Rurality Blog Hop....

This is a barn we pass on the way to Nashville, Indiana.  It is on past Spencer, Indiana on 46.  The road is busy, so I have to shoot out my window.  This time I actually rolled the window down...so far, I think this is my most successful shot of the old barn.

Blue Heron

Taken December 1, 2013....north of here about 30 or 40 minutes.  We haven't seen one since then.  We generally see one every now and then during the winter, just not as many as in summer.

Cold with wind....

Go ahead...click the get a bigger view.  Can you feel the cold?  We ventured out for a little drive today...side roads were nothing but ice.  We did have a little adventure with that.  Otherwise, it took me forever to warm up after we got home.

Barn that has seen better days...

We were up by this barn again last week...below is a photo taken April 28, 2008
Can you believe how much it has deteriorated since then.  If I hadn't taken both pics I would have to wonder if they were the same barn.

Oh, and if you are interested, HERE is a photo of it from another view that was taken in January of 2012.

Cat in the country

Captured this kitty on a recent drive...can't remember just where.  He looks a little rough, but he wasn't too far from someone's house so I hope he has a home.
