We were headed to see Lorelei a week or two ago, stopped at a yard sale, and as we left I noticed this mural just down the street and across the road. I could not help but wonder had it been done after the young man drowned there a few weeks back.
What a gorgeous mural, Rose... Did you read the inscription???? I'm sure they said so--if it was in memory of that young man... What a nice tribute--if it was.
I've been looking and looking at this thing...very intriguing. What's the point of it? Certainly is well-done. But then there appears to be graffiti to the right and at the top - or that's the name of the graffiti "artist" who did this...and down on the left-hand side is a phone number and the words, "For Hire."
Maybe this "artist" is looking for work and this is his way of advertising?

Whatever, a fun and funky post, Rose.
I also noticed the 'For Hire' notice in the corner and wondered if this was a way for the artist to advertise. In any case, it's a pretty neat mural.
ReplyDeleteA fine capture of this interesting mural. I like the style of the painting and you've caught it all very well.
ReplyDeleteVery nice mural! I love it when walls are put to use for murals.
ReplyDeleteThis has such a great folk-artsy quality.
