For a while now, I have been noticing the things left on the top of fence posts. I suppose they are put there to get them out of the way...or are they to serve as a marker for someone else? Either way, I try to photograph them when I can...this time to me, it looks like a piece of concrete.
It does look like a piece of concrete. I don't have a clue but maybe someone else will know if there is a reason for this.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to start watching the fence posts more closely now.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why the concrete is on the post, but it certainly is interesting. I look forward to seeing some of the other toppers you find.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I've never noticed this!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting fence post to find and shoot. It does seem strange to have a piece of concrete atop the post. Makes a good picture.
ReplyDeleteCool shot. I'll have to pay attention to see if posts are being topped here too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove all of your photos, Rose. By the way, is your header a picture of your childhood home?
ReplyDeleteThe fence post topper is interesting.... Looks like a giant mushroom... ha ha
Yes---that is an interesting barn, and YES---it does need work...
I love that Illinois farm... Such a gorgeous old home....
Thanks Rose... I enjoyed seeing them all.
Hugs,
Betsy
My first comment disappeared in some kind of error! Boy, this is frustrating...but I said at first I thought this was a cowpie.
ReplyDeleteThe question is, after this post, how are you gonna top that?
Just found your blog and am blown away by the photographs. Things are put on top of fence posts to keep the rain from pooling and causing the posts to rot. Sorry it isn't as romantic as a lot of the other reasons
