Old Barn from the Land of Lincoln

I ran across this the other day when looking through the archives and immediately thought I would use it today.
I am not sure where it was taken...somewhere over in Illinois. It looks like it has been in a bit too much wind. If you want to join the Barn Charm Meme, check out Tricia's Bluff Area Daily blog.

  1. What a great barn! This is probably one of my favorites out of all the barns I have seen.

  2. WoW! That's AWESOME! What's the deal called on top? The cupola? Whatever it is, it's HUGE! I've never seen one that big!!!
    Excellent find, Rose!!!

  3. Gosh, and I thought steel roofs were forever!
The idiosyncrasies of barn construction are mind bending. This one is AAA+

  10. Hi Rose, Neat looking barn.... You always find the neatest barns!!!! Looks like that one is still in good use --even though it desperately needs a new roof.

  12. This is a massive old mess, but it's still standing and obviously is still getting some use. Lovely shots, Rose!

  13. Super shot, Rose. What a neat barn--looks like many out here. And it is still being used if only for storage.

I am taken aback by no green anywhere. We are green year around. Blogging is a good geography lesson. MB

  14. This is a great old barn with lots of detail and appeal in its construction. I would wonder what the higher section in the middle housed...perhaps a lift. Very strong barn picture.

  16. Very rustic looking barn and it's huge. I also wonder what's in the middle of the barn. It looks like a tower to watch the farmers? Great shot and thanks for sharing!

  18. This barn does have a lot of charm, even if it does need a lot of TLC as Sunny said.

  19. Great....seems so typical of the ones I saw while crossing Illinois. They all seem to have that top part.
