Any time I run across some of these photos from the strip pits, my heart stops for just a second..I wonder if anyone else looks at this and thinks how beautiful...but when you really look, what is there that is beautiful. So, I wonder is it the memories it triggers that make it so beautiful.
it's totally beautiful. the rich colors in the grasses, the intense skies. love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful Rose. T's right about the rich colors. It almost feels like I'm standing in the road and looking down it...Nice!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful sky and that long seemingly never ending road makes it beautiful to me.
ReplyDeleteI know to some though a country road with pretty much nothing in sight might be an acquired taste. :)
It is beautiful, and I think as others have said it's the rich colors, but there's also something about a road disappearing out of sight over the horizon or around a corner that grabs you.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to take a nice quiet walk there!
ReplyDeleteI think the memories definitely add to it, but I think it's a beautiful place just by your photos of it... love your header w/ the green & the road thru the middle & then that sky!!! =)
ReplyDeleteI like the larger view that lets us see more of the details in the image. The strip pits are a special place for you and your shooting. That's so good to have a place that you can share with us who cannot visit your area in person.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful picture, the subtle colors, the way the road gets smaller, I want to be set loose there with my camera!! It also evokes such quiet and peace.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just you...that is beautiful. It's so peaceful and serene that it makes you want to be there.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a painting to me. :)
