When I first planted my wisteria, the shoots on it were not a whole lot bigger around than a pencil. I braided them together and started training it up the trellis. Look how big it has gotten.
is your wisteria purple flowers? my aunt had purple ones and I loved them. hers was on a chain link fence, but it took over and made a tree. i like this photo, it is a good one for Friday Fence.
My husband did the same thing! Now we have a beautiful twisted wisteria tree out back.
