I am going to show a couple barns from the last drive....back in January. I hope they are not as dark on your computer as on mine...specially the one above. It is hard to tell on this laptop how things are going to show up. Sometimes they look fine on other computers, and a few times not so hot.

I have passed the above barn several times and not found it appealing, but let there be a little snow and I think it makes a fine subject.

This one I have taken in different seasons, and like it each and every time I see it.

I have played with this one because it was soooo dark...I need to learn to set my camera to compensate for snow on the ground but never think of it till it is too late.
Anyway, I want to post this for Tricia's Barn Charm meme...and will attempt to visit everyone but it may take a few days.
i love that long, low, red one!!! beautiful in the snow! the white ones are good, too, but wow, the red...
ReplyDeleteno kidding .. that red barn with the snow is just beautiful. great shots. so pretty. i wish we would have had some snow in VA this year. maybe next year. fingers crossed. i need some snowy pics. (:
ReplyDeleteYou just can't beat a red barn! However, I really did like #1. I believe I have to travel a little to see a barn here in central NJ...even though we are the 'Garden State.' Go figure!
ReplyDeleteI really like that second one too. The first one does look pretty in the snow - there is something about a white barn in the snow!
ReplyDeleteThe white barn kind of goes right with the snow, I'm thinking you didn't make it black and white, the scenery really looks this way. The red one is really pretty, the roof is sagging a bit, it must need more support in the middle. Yes, it's hard to judge the brightness of pictures on a laptop, because for me it all depends on how the screen is tilted, how much it is opened.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful. The bare trees added to the beauty of these two barns.
ReplyDeleteRed Barn
The red with the snow is perfect. I love all the photos!
ReplyDeleteYep, neat pictures
ReplyDeleteHow true what difference some snow makes. The white one is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSnow always makes a barn look great. I'll have to keep my eye out for white barns around here, love the red one.
ReplyDeletebeeee-autiful! they are all so pretty in their own unique ways!
ReplyDeleteThe white barn n snow is a true black n white shot! No edits needed!
ReplyDeleteThat red one is a LONG barn and the roof is beginning to get tired and sag down a bit in the middle, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteA fine series of barn shots. These overcast days can make barn shooting more difficult. I have some that are just so bland and unimpressive that I'll have to wait and shoot them again later, if I can find them! :-)
ReplyDeletethat red barn is beyond charming. love it. especially the middle pic of it. the white is pretty but the red is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Great barn captures....I love the red one. The snow adds a beautiful touch to the overall image and especially to the roof. genie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful barns.....snow makes everything better!
ReplyDeleteI really like the red barn - love the splash of colour against the white snow
ReplyDeleteI like the closeup on the white barn Rose - love seeing all the board work.
ReplyDeleteThe red one is pretty long. I like how it's nestled against the hills.
Been missing your barn shots.
I like the white on white :) Nice.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a snow covered red barn but there is something about the white on white...it creates a special mood.
ReplyDeletei like the white one also, there's just something about it!!
ReplyDeleteand i usually prefer red...
I really like the red barn, although white barns are unusual enough to be charming as well.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the red barn is special but the white one is pretty too :)
ReplyDeleteHi, I hope you are feeling better and am back to blogging. I missed you on barn charm. Thanks for your comments on my blog. Yes snow does wonders for some subjects. MB
ReplyDeleteLove that stretched out red barn with the sway roof...
ReplyDeleteLove the corn crib on the corner of the white barn. Both barns are beautiful, but the snow makes them perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the inside peak we get in the second photo!
ReplyDeleteThat red really pops in contrast to the snow, but I rather like that 1st ol barn best, tho I can't put my finger on why... maybe cuz it's white on white?! Cool barn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining, Rose! =)
I have started really becoming fascinated with the roofs of the older barns. They are similar yet so different in may cases. The red one is one of those different one. All of the white snow on the roof and on the ground make for such a pretty picture. The white one is wonderful. So old and so much charm. genie
ReplyDeleteLove them...the snow really does add to the photos! Makes that red really pop in the second barn.
ReplyDeleteReally nice barn photos! I do like the way the snow adds to the look of the scene. But, I know you are tired of it grey dreariness. Maybe soon...
ReplyDeleteI really like the red barn against the white snow. And you're right--even an unappealing barn looks quite nice when you add a bit of snow to it.
