Friday's fences....

I have been meaning to post the above photo for a while now...but every time I started to look for it I detoured. This is the an area of Parke County....we used to take the girls here to play. There used to be a rope swing, on down past that bend. And the owners have a place back there that they come and camp and have campfires....there is a little creek that runs through off to the right side.
While looking for the top photo, I came across this...wouldn't you love to have a cucumber fresh from the garden?????

  1. I really like the rural scene in the first one Rose.
That cucumber makes me hungry for a salad. Raising them along a fence is exactly how my hubby likes to raise them.
    Lovely shots!

  14. I really like your first shot - it makes me want to wander down that pathway. I bet it was a lovely walk and a great place to take children to play.
I love the flavour of cucumber - even better when fresh from your own garden.

  15. i would love to have a fresh picked cucumber, i love them and tomatoes picked in the middle of the day when they are warm from the sun. salt is good but i have eaten many of them out of daddy's field, just like eating an apple. i would love a place like the one behind the gate.

  18. The best kind of park--not too developed. And that must have been such a peaceful walk into the park. In the winter I like those tender skinned English cukes, but nothing beats your fence variety!

  19. A fine fence shot with a description that sounds very appealing. I hope the owner's still let visitors use this occasionally.

  26. Hi, Rose, nothing taste fresher than a home ground cucumber.

And the fence could possibly serve dual purpose, the vines, climbing through it.

  27. That path beyond the gate beckons me to wander. It will be a while before there are any fresh cukes in my garden.

  30. Would love a nice small one like that. Seems like most people wait and only pick them when they are huge, or at least that is what the stores end up with.
