Actually, I am pretty sure this was along Route 1, and south of Danville, but how far south I don't know. I wonder how long it has sat there...what happened that it was left sitting there?
always so sad to see places like this just wasting away. but they do have a character all their own and make for great photo subjects. we're left to make our own stories up unless we live close enough to know the story behind its abandonment. hope all is well~
I'm thinking a UFO put it there. The aliens have been using it as a bar in the middle of the night. Ah, ok maybe not aliens. Anyway, that is a awesome picture, it looks so lonely.
Yep, an old passenger train car. Makes one wonder what purpose someone used it for. Maybe storage of some kind. I like it's old and rusty look. It would make a nice long playhouse. :)
Wow. People can actually get tax credits for keeping a train car or caboose on their property. I'm surprised that someone didn't 'rescue' it while it was still in rescue condition.
wonder if someone used it for storage? would have made a great diner in its heyday. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is it? I have to 2nd TWG about the diner option... that would have been pretty cool! =)
ReplyDeleteI agree, with T... definitely would have made a great diner! I love stumbling across things like this :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a cable car or trolley of some kind? What a shame!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree too, that would have been a neat place to eat.
ReplyDeleteSad, but really cool looking.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful in a sad way.

ReplyDeletelooks like a very old passenger train car. wonder if the tracks were near and how it got there. i really like the look of it, rust and all
ReplyDeleteIts condition certainly raises many questions. It looks bent as though it was in a derailment. Fine shot.

Wow it is quite ramshackle isn't it? Can you imagine how it would have looked when it was in use - I bet it was wonderful.

ReplyDeleteNeat shot, but kind of sad too.
