Barn with crib

On a rambling drive yesterday, we were on our way home and I seen just the very top part of this shot...even though it was going the wrong way, I asked Roger to head that way. I couldn't believe it when I saw this.

I love these structures...I assume with all the ventilation that they are corn cribs...

So far, I think all the ones I have seen have been farther north...and all have been painted white.

It was with a nice, white barn...

Linking to Tricia's Barn Charm meme!

  18. It just proves why so many of us love barns. They are as varied in size, colour, building material, form and function as our imagination.

    Great find and series!

  25. I love both the barn and corn crib! Wonderful find!

As to using Google Earth to find my barn, I was able to locate the barn and covered bridge from last week, mainly because I have a book on PA covered bridges and it gave directions to it. This week's barn was five minutes away, and I tried following the road I think we drove on, but there were a whole lot of intersections and roads going off in different directions, and so I gave up the search, since I know we won't be in that area again for a good long while. But I am adding Google Earth to my arsenal of resources!

  27. Wonderful, Rose. I have always wanted to see a round barn close up but the last one out this way in Eastern Washington was 100 years old and was so rotting it finally came down. So even tho yours may be a corn crib it is close enought to a barn to excite me. The whole outfit looks pretty neat too.

I am getting along better. I feel fine when I am not in pain but trying to stretch the tendons is a bear. So I take it slow and do my exercises and hope and pray. Thanks for asking. MB

How's your little mighty might---no more cussing I hope LOL> MB
