Exquisite photo! It seemed like all the butterflies I saw this summer were not content to sit still. They'd flit away as soon as I got my camera pointed at them.
I suspect a few monarch's have headed south. We haven't had a frost yet but we have had a couple of very cold nights. For sure some hawks are traveling southward.
This was taken yesterday at the strip pits...I saw more butterflies in the time I was there than I have seen all summer.

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I have seen very few Monarchs this year or any of the bigger butterflies. Maybe they are headed this way...I hope.
