Someone posted a barn that was built similar to this 2 or 3 weeks ago. Only the one they posted was in wonderful shape.....just a beauty. But it immediately made me this of this old one. So I wanted to post it...these are never before posted photos of it, but I have posted other photos of it.
I have been watching it for several years now....just a few more boards are missing. I really do wonder just how long it can continue to stand.
These two photos were from our drive yesterday. I love the barn above, have passed it a million times, and think I have only attempted to shoot it one other time. I just love its gambrel roof. It isn't far from here, but not a real good place to pull off the road so just got this drive by shot. You can see that the fence is sort of blurry...we were going at least 55-60 mph.
This is one I had seen a few times before...it is on a back road so we did pause as I took the photo. This is through the windshield.

the first one's missing a few teeth in its grin. poor old thing. the white one is such a pretty one! and the last reminds me of some of the structures around here.

Beautiful photo's! You are right, I wonder how long the top barn can hang on. It surely is pretty!

The first barn really is falling apart but it makes a great photo op. I like the gambrel roof on the second barn too. Too bad the shed roof on the third barn is in such bad shape.

ReplyDeleteI think they should fix the roof pretty soon on the second one. A tarp is good short term.
I love the last one! The red and white paint, the weathered barn doors and the lightning rods make it charming for me!
If it were mine I just couldn't let that lean-to roof keep falling in. :(

ReplyDeleteEach barn has its own unique charm. Which I find to be a testament to everything is has provided in its past to the whimsy of onlookers and photographers today.

ReplyDeleteAll of these are very good barn shots, Rose. That first one can't last much longer. I like the drive-by shot which is very good in spite of the speed. Good through-the-windshield shot too.
