Hawk....

We have not seen many hawks this summer...I seriously doubt we have seen a dozen.  Compared to used to if we took a day trip, we might have seen close to a dozen.  The other day when I drove through the strip pits on my way to Paris, I spotted this one.  First on the ground and then in the air when I stopped to try to capture him.  He definitely looks bigger in the air than he did on the ground.

  1. Wonderful! It looks like his beak is open, and you even caught the markings!

  2. P.S. it is so hard to capture a flying bird without it being blurry, I don't know how you did it.

  4. I never seem to be able to capture them very successfully -- always flying away from me! Great capture Rose.

  5. Good shot, Rose.
Maybe all the hawks flew our way because our squirrel, chipmunk and small bird population has been seriously "culled"!!

  7. It is amazing how big they are when they fly. Ive seen quite a few this summer. In the winter, I've counted up to fifty on a single trip to Chattanooga from here in north Alabama. That's a great shot!
