Swamp turtles...

Last Saturday when we were out for our drive, we went north...to go by the big orchard for one thing.  The other is near the orchard, we take this road that goes down to this swampy area.  Last summer it was dry when we were up there...it is still not as full as you would think it might be at this time of year.

  1. we're very dry here, too. local lakes that supply cities with water are at dangerously low levels.

    love that prehistoric beast - as long as he's not in my pond, snapping my ducks' legs. :)

  2. I've seen those turtles before but not the big snapper. That would be almost as great as seeing alligators.

  4. A fine closer in picture of these turtles and especially this huge turtle on the log. He looks very big!
