First a photo I have posted sometime in the past...going to show it again just cause I like it. This old swing was just left hanging...the house was abandoned and boarded up. Stuff growing up all around it. And then there was this old swing. I just loved how it was hanging there, waiting on its family to come to return.
And then since the first has been shown before, I will add this one from Patton's Corner. I have posted a pic of this old tractor before but this was taken when we were up there the end of last month.
Linking with Rubbish by Roan's Rubbish Tuesday meme...I may be slow getting to everyone's post but I will get to them.
I have never seen wheels like that on anything before. It must be for some specific reason or purpose. Even the front wheel too. Neat old machine.
ReplyDeleteWow, two pictures, each with an opposite meaning of the other. Fun and rest is the first picture, then work the second. The swing picture truly has me mesmerized! I wonder if one could still sit in it and swing? I wonder how old the long ago children are now?
ReplyDeleteI hope the swing stays forever. Great finds
ReplyDeleteLove the old swing . . . .Might not be the safest for swinging though . . .
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. I especially love the swing. It seems so wistful, almost melancholy.
ReplyDeleteNice old swing and a great tractor! TomThe Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteThat swing picture makes me want to write a story. And LOVE the tractor. I wonder if those wheels were an attempt to make the tractor less likely to get stuck in mud. Can you imagine the damage those wheels would do on our roads? It's an amazing gem! Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThe swing makes me sad.
ReplyDeletethe swing is old and beautiful and a tad on the sad side. someone should have taken it and used it. but it is beautiful as an art piece
ReplyDeleteoh, that sweet old swing...
ReplyDeleteRose...great photos...espcially that one of the swing. What is that old saying..."every picture tells a story"? Wouldn't you just love to know what the story is?
ReplyDeletei love the swing photo...it's kind of ghostly!
ReplyDeleteA find shot of the swing with a bit of sadness in the shot. The steel wheeled tractor is a classic. No flats with this kind of wheel! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood photos. The swing is kinda sad. Don't you wonder what happened to the family that left there?
ReplyDeleteI really like the photo of the swing. You can almost see ghostly figures sitting there--must be a little eerie on a windy day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! Love the weathered swing.
