This one was up at the swampy area north of here. It was so windy, I was lucky to get this shot. Believe it or not, I have seen just as many monarchs here at the house, if not more than normal. But not other places.
I sure hope they are making a comeback. Beautiful shot of this monarch. Windy weather definitely isn't your friend when it comes to shots like this, but you aced it!
glad you've got a good population. i've seen a few earlier this year, but not lately.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful, a polka dot butterfly! You are sooo good at photographing them. I could look forever.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful picture Rose!!!
ReplyDeleteGood photo!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you're seeing these endangered beauties.
I've only seen 4 this year and I usually see dozens.
It's a lovely photo Rose. Everything in focus and good colour matches
ReplyDeleteA fine, detailed capture despite the wind. A very strong shot.
ReplyDeletewe had a few butterflies this summer, but not nearly what we usually do. it could be the longevity of the high 90's since June 1...
