This fence is from the cemetery we came across on Sunday. I was so glad to be out where we could stop for me to take photos.
The only think I could have wished for is for a not so drab day...still, I was able to give the pics a little better look in Picasa.
Just a bit of the details...
Oh, I also wish I had taken a shot looking down the fence...oh, well, I always think later of what I should have done.
This is my contribution to Theresa's Good Fences.
love the rusty signage and, well, rust everywhere! great one, rose!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me angry. And sad for the friends and family of the ones buried here. There is no excuse to have a gate like this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great area for finding antiquated fencing.
ReplyDeleteI love the rusty old fence. Looks like a nice old cemetery to visit. Great shots, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful fences and marvellous detail shots
ReplyDeleteit is a beautiful old and rusty fence, the patina is wonderful..

The rust adds character! Oh, you are not the only one who can imagine an even better photo once home viewing the photos on a computer. :))
ReplyDeletei think some of my fave fences are seen at cemetery. so so cool!! very decorative. i love them!! ( :
ReplyDeleteA fine "fence" series. The sagging gate suggests it has been used a great deal. I like the closer in shots showing the fence's rust too.
ReplyDeleteI like the rust on the gate, it gives it lots of character! It's been around a long time and is very charming even if it is sagging a bit. (I, too, think of snaps I should have taken after I've left the scene!) Have a great day, Rose!
ReplyDeleteVery nice fence and location! Just went to a big cemetery a couple of months ago, just to take a walk around - so calming!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
What a neat old gate leading into the cemetery. I love the details you captured in your close-ups.
ReplyDeleteLove that rustic gate and the detail in the last two images, in particular.
ReplyDeleteYes, our days have been rather 'drab' of late. It seems when it is sunny, we are not able to get out to enjoy it.
Lindy
You have a grand cemetery fence too! Love the details you've captured. The skies have been drab around here a lot too. Today is sunny, but I'm staying in. The wind is very cold!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...this fence has really seen some better days...however, the build of rust through out the years is exactly what brings it such character.
ReplyDeleteThere is always something fascinating about a cemetery and the fence that surrounds it...
enjoy your evening..
I love these old cemetery fences! Nice post!!
ReplyDeleteLove the rust on this old fencing! Fab closeups too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. I wonder what it used to have written on the gate. I see an 'E'.
ReplyDeleteI love rambling 'round in older small cemeteries.

How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove cemetery fences for the rust and wonderful details you can capture.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you about thinking about what I should have done. Usually this time of year it's because it's cold and I take a shot or two and get back in the Jeep. :)
Good eye! I always think of wooden fences, but the metal is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is the second post I've seen this week of cemeteries. The aging of this fence adds character to its appearance.
ReplyDeleteI can see I shall have to check out or local plots.
I really like that you were able to capture the details of this lovely old fence. Its a wonderful contribution.
ReplyDeleteIt sure has been through some hard weather and lost letters.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I missed this lovely fence post last week. Nice captures.
