It's hammer time...

I always wonder how people end up with so many of the same item...do they pick them up cheap and resell a bit higher?  Another picture from the Croy Creek Trader's Fair.

  1. I know how they do it.
While working on a project, put the hammer down but can't find in the construction rubble when it's needed again. So go out and buy a new one. Lose that one the same way and on it goes. Then one day, all the lost hammers are found.
A friend of ours found his many missing hammers inside a wall when he tore off panneling years later on a new reno.
The same thing happens with seam rippers :)

  2. These are well made, quality tools from decades ago when you bought a hand tool, it was made in the good ol' U.S.A. There is an old gentleman who frequently shows up at the weekly flea market I go to and he picks up old tools like these, cleans them up and brings them to the market for sale. His tools are always a pleasure to look at and he once told me that it just his hobby. "Gives me something to do." He also collects old fishing gear - poles and reels, cleans them up and sells them also.

  3. That would be my dad buying something that he already has, but he too would re-sell them at the shows he went to.

  9. We even 'inherited' a lot of hammers when my father passed. So now we have one for each appendage [including some for our cats' paws]

  12. I think tool collectors never get enough. This shot is has an interesting variety of hammers. I'll take a plain old claw hammer!

  13. There's a couple of them that are used for something else. Probably an avid collector would enjoy these.
