Mrs is every bit as smart as the old man. Presumably they are hole-nesters so they don't have to worry too much about camouflage. I've also noticed that birds with big sharp beaks don't concern themselves about being seen. I guess that birds of prey don't risk their precious eyesight by attacking woodpeckers, kingfishers, oystercatchers etc.
