Wednesday we woke up to approximately 3 inches of snow...seems like this Red-bellied Woodpecker and his mate come no matter what. Several times a day.
Also the cardinals...
But yesterday the cowbirds made their appearance.
They were not here in the numbers that they came last year, but the winter is young.
It was hard to get some of these pics cause they were all constantly moving.
That's it from my little corner of the world.
Always nice to see the very different birds you have on your side of the water, especially the less glamorous ones that other folk don't photograph.
ReplyDeleteGreat bird shots. I like them.
ReplyDeleteWe never see Cowbirds until the Spring. I wish the would stay away..they are a natural enemy of the Cardinals and I definitely prefer the Reds!!My woodpeckers are really feasting on the suet. Funny how certain birds can be a favorite.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many beautiful guests visiting you in the early morning.
ReplyDeletesuper shots, every single one is a great shot. i like the beak when they face the camera...
ReplyDeleteHello, wonderful collection of visitors. I love the woodie.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
You got some fine close ups of these colorful birds. I rarely get a moderate sized bird at my feeder or below in on the ground. A flicker was the latest one.
ReplyDeleteit's always nice to have invited guests
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed viewing your bird images!
ReplyDeleteNo time to pose. Got to keep moving to stay warm. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice selection of bird visitors. We had Starlings show up this week to join the crows, chickadees and doves
ReplyDeleteI think I have the rest of your Cowbirds! Feeders busy here, too.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely of you to feed the birds, especially in Winter when it's not as easy for them to find food
