It does look like a sandpiper but also a Lesser Yellowlegs---exact----hard to tell. We have 6 different Sandpipers and they are all similar. Good shots anyway MB
I had a post about the same birds recently-mine were Greater Yellowlegs - there are also Lesser Yellowlegs - the difference is mostly their size. Sandpipers have dark legs, so it seems you have a Yellowlegs of either size. It is hard to compare if they aren't together.
Sorry I can't help you identify the birds but I can say that they are beautiful. Love the spotted feathers.
ReplyDeleteI believe them to be Sandpipers. I looked them up just to be sure, and they look exactly like these. Good reflections too!

ReplyDeletei agree they are sandpipers, they are all over our beaches here. great shots of them
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they were fishing or taking a bath. I don't know what kind of bird they are. But I like the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI would say they are the Yellowlegs! Great shots. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSand pipers, far from home :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what they were but looked up both Sandpipers and Yellowlegs and I would say yellowlegs.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate seeing them. The colorings are so wonderful with all the speckle spots.
ReplyDeleteI see you got some good IDs...they are beautiful! Enjoy your day! Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh, those are very unique birds, Rose. Not sure what they are either. They have long beaks that you don't usually see on other birds.
