This was taken up at the Heron Viewing place north of Danville at the same time I took those swan photos I posted a few days ago. The pair of geese were much more afraid than the swans.
What a great picture of the geese. They are one of my favorites. Their honk is loud and always warns the others when one is coming.

ps it's funny that many people think California is sunny all the time. But we get the rain, winds, snow in different parts of the areas. Where your daughter lived in LA, it's sunny much of the year, but it does rain in the winter months. In northern California where I live, we get all the seasons, and in Autumn, it's particularly lovely.
