I am not sure what kind of tree these were on, but just imagine if everyone of the seeds in this photo got planted...I cannot imagine how many trees that would be.
Looks like Ash tree seeds to me. The most common tree that grows up here in old fields. I think they tend to put on a flush of excess seeds every few years
They are not leaves, but seed pods? The shape reminds me of those helicopters, and I know they are in different colors depending on what tree they are on.
