One barn, three views

I have posted this barn before...we always wonder what it was used for.

I tend to think for horses, but the doors are so little, I even doubt that.

Also notice the door above the door...that hinges down, not to the side.

Linking to The Barn Collective.   If I can remember!

  1. Too little for cows, too. I'm thinking sheep or pigs.

  2. the only thing I can think of for tiny windows is to let light inside but for what or whom, who knows. whatever it used to be it is beautiful now in all 3 photos

  3. ...three views and I enjoy them all. This survivor still has a straight sound roof, it should be with us for a lot longer! Thanks Rose for stopping by.

  4. Bom dia, belas imagens do celeiro que aparentemente tem uma arquitectura simples mas de grande utilidade, tudo foi pensado ao pormenor na construção do mesmo.
    Bom domingo e semana.

  5. It really was built for storage. The upper door would be for placing hay bales. We would have elevators to send the bales up into the storage area (mow).

  9. This long barn is a mystery. I think the down action of those window is very unusual. It still makes a great post though.

  12. Beautiful! The wood has aged to perfection. I just like it and will enjoy it. Probably used for storage of some kind.
Maybe horses--a stall at each window

  15. I do love that wonderful barn - it does seem to be for horses - judging by the little hinged doors. Great views.
