From the strip pit area
Ran through the strip pit area today...just to be going. Saw our first Northern Harrier out there. Normally we see them quite a while before now.
From this road, it is a good ways over to the big strip pit...so the following photo was zoomed way in.
I think the white are swans...I am pretty sure the others are white fronted geese. They are so far that without the zoom power of the camera, you cannot really tell for sure that it is birds. And for sure did not see the white fronted geese...all we saw was the white. I was on the road in the first photo when I took this photo.
Wished I could take photos there. Carol
ReplyDeleteA marvelous sight to see this many birds!
ReplyDeleteThose "strip pirs" sound really interesting. Obviously they provide habitat for a lot of birds!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of birds!
ReplyDelete...wow, the first one would make a great Reflective Moment!
ReplyDeleteHello, looks like a great birding spot. The white birds could be the Snow Geese. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeletewow, that looks like thousands of white birds. I bet if they all lifted off the sky would be white.. so glad you got to visit the strip pits
ReplyDeleteBeautiful floating white clouds in the first picture. I have never seen so many white swans!
What a great area for all nature lovers!
ReplyDeleteEven without detail the white of the birds is very attractive. These are successful pictures.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The first picture is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ruth--- that first shot is quite fine.
ReplyDeleteWow. Amazing pics.
ReplyDeleteOh Rose, that first pic is glorious. Straight as a die.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time photographing the birds when they are all on the ground or water like that. They just come out flat for me.

What an amazing place. It looks so wild and remote. I love your photo of the road leading on to the horizon with those amazing cloud formations overhead.
