The turkeys were back over in the cornfield about a mile west of us...just past the last house at the edge of town.
They were not seriously strutting...they were responding to me 'calling' to them. I do not know how to describe what I was doing. They just keep on pecking around and hunting for food till I started trying to different sounds to get a response. And I finally found one that would make 3 or 4 of them puff out and fan out their tails.
Here is one looking for the idiot making the strange call...
At least you got them to strut their stuff so you could get these great pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou can call turkeys to come, what an amazing thing!! They are so secretive around here that I have never seen one. They stay hidden in the woods. They are very colorful, and you got awesome pictures! Your header is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh Rose, I see the turkeys in my town all the time. They even roam the neighborhoods. These are nice pictures. I can just see you making the calls to get their attention. : )
