Can't resist


These have started blooming...but this does not show the color that you see when you are looking at them from a distance.


See the tips of the bud...how it looks almost black.  That is what the flowers actually look like.  You see them and your first thought is that they are black...until you get closer and look.

    So pretty. I am sure I used to have that same color of Iris. Oh, I miss those flowers, but knew that I could not keep up with all the flowers beds once Jake was goners I had to give the up.

    The dark,color is actually a very good color. It simply demands that the dealer gets close.

    The top picture is a beautiful Purple color. Too bad they don't look like that. Maybe in the sun?

    I have this iris and it too is black st the beginning then turns deep violet. I have a couple of older iris varieties blooming right now. Your shots are so great.
