I barely managed a capture of this Wood Duck...he and his mate were in some backwaters beside the rode we were on and quickly skidaddled away when I paused to snap a pic. This is the first time I have ever been sure I was seeing a Wood Duck.
This is another barn I have shown numerous times before. I photograph every time I pass it.
This is just a small portion of a huge orchard north of us. Probably not huge by some standards. I have always hoped to catch it in full bloom but never have. They had taken out a lot of trees in this one section since the last time I was through there.
Seeing a Wood Duck is so special! I saw one for the first time last year. Got bad pictures, but at least I saw him!

ReplyDeleteI have seen wood ducks here, but they are not common. I thought an alligator was about to munch that wood duck. Now THAT would certainly surprise some folks in your neck of the woods!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a wood duck around here. You live in a really pretty area. I like the barn and would probably take a picture of it every time too. Some things are just meant to be photographed over and over.

The wood duck is just so handsome. I also love the barn and what a pretty orchard. The grape vineyard behind us once was an apple orchard.
