What is it?


I am not sure what this is...it was about 6-8 inches tall, and there was lots of it near the swamp area.  I feel like I know but for the life of me I cannot think what it is.


And this was among some of those plants....

Edited to add:  Furry Gnome has identified this as Horsetails, the top photo being the male frond; the second is the female.  Thank you so much, Furry.

  1. Those are Horsetails, relared terns. The first picture is the male frond; the second is the female. It carries the spores. There are several varieties, but onle a few with branches like these.

  3. Yes, we have had horesetail. But never did see this weird bloom.
