I couldn't believe the butterfly stayed there and let me get close enough to take a decent photo.
I was also thankful that it was a calm day...it seems any more that the wind seldom stops. Almost any time I try to take a photo like this, the wind is blowing.
Rose, this is more than a decent photo - it's beautiful. Yes, the butterfly can flutter about so quickly that it's very hard to get a picture of it.
ReplyDeleteHave a very nice week ahead.

Wow, simply gorgeous!! An unexpected special surprise!
ReplyDeleteLovely image. This looks like it could be on the cover of a gardening magazine.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of the butterfly. The butterflies in my garden are fluttering here and there and it is impossible to take pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteSuper pictures!!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous photos. I have never been able to get a picture of a butterfly. They take off before I can even bring the camera up. I have the same problem with the wind sometimes. I'll focus in on a flower and just as I snap the wind blows and the flower starts moving
ReplyDeleteWow! Two magnificent pictures. There must have been some very special nectar for the butterfly to linger so long!
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful close views!
ReplyDeleteHello Rose,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterfly and I love the purple coneflowers. Lovely photos! Wishing you a happy day and a great new week!
I can not believe you got close enough to capture the butterfly with your tablet. I can't get a decent photo with my tablet at all.
ReplyDeleteThis one is so well done. An excellent closeup with great detail and color.I know what you mean about the wind blowing. Always seems to blow here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. WOW!
ReplyDeletePerfect shots. We've been having a lot of wind lately too, except for today.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you got this opportunity and that you shared it with us!
ReplyDeleteVery nice butterfly and flower shots. I was tracking butterflies a few times last week but no such luck.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. I love butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful swallowtail that is willing to sit still for you.
