I looked in my book of grasses and think it's N American Wild Oats(Chasmanthium latifolium), also called Sea Oats, River Oats or Wood Oats. Native to N America especially Missouri and adjoining states. Apparently it's grown as an ornamental grass here though I've never seen it. Having said that I'll probably find it everywhere now!
Darned if I know, but it's very interesting. Let me know when you find out.
ReplyDeleteI don't know but I would like to know what it is. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSeems similar to much of the grass growing around here--- but not identical.
