This door is located in
Bridgeton, Indiana(<is a link to some posts with more pics from Bridgeton)...a very small place. They do not even have a gas station.
Bridgeton does have a roller mill and is one of the main centers of activity for the Covered Bridge Festival every year in October
At one time, it must have been beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA very characterful door and windows. "Gas stations", as you call them, have disappeared from many, many places here as supermarkets have added petrol pumps and car-washes to the list of the services they provide and have undercut the prices of the smaller sellers.
ReplyDeleteInteresting old place-- So many small, rural towns, away from major population areas are nearly dead.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a grand building in its day. Love the windows and doors.
ReplyDeletethat door would make a great decoration, in a garden, on a wall. I LOVE THE DOORS.. they speak to me.. maybe because they are old and wrinkled like ME. I scrolled through your Bridgeton phots. Wow. how close are you to this or is that where you live
ReplyDeleteExcelentes fotografias, gostei e aproveito para desejar um bom Domingo.

There is a charming beauty to these images of the door and windows.
ReplyDeleteI like the curved area over the doorway. Very attractive.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful entry that can be restored once again with a little TLC!
ReplyDeleteI love taking pictures of old houses and old doors. These are great images with so much character!
ReplyDeleteLove this aged door! I would love to be at the covered bridge festival.
ReplyDeleteEven now it has a bit of elegance to it. Very nice captures.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this was a private residence or something else?
ReplyDeleteLove the doors. If they look this amazing now I can only imagine how grand they looked when they were new
ReplyDeleteBridgeton looks like an interesting place. I like this worn doorway.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy photos like this. I wonder what sort of activity went on that building and the nature of the people to whom it was familiar.
ReplyDeleteThose are really cool pictures, Rose. Sometimes old things are beautiful. I am partial to brick walls, as my mom's kitchen was all brick. : )
