Red-headed stranger, again


Just have to show you these...


We drove through the strip pit area and Roger's cousin lives near where we were at...


So we stopped by...


His wife let out their chickens.  She and I sat in a swing and talked and laughed...just watching them.



I so wish I had thought and recorded the sound.  Just such a homey sound...even when he crowed it was not at all annoying.

  9. Well how fun was that. I kow of several people who raise chickens. Seeing the feathers in that first one I find them so pretty and fascinating.

  11. they are really beautiful chickens, I would love to hear the sounds. but not at early am. our neighbor had one that crowed from 2:30 am and half the day. I used to lay in bed and plan ways to murder him... I had no idea they crowed anytime other than daybreak. that was 40 ears ago. excellent photos of these chicks

  19. Gorgeous critters! For some reason, people leave them at picnic areas to fend for themselves here in NZ when they are tired of them. Fortunately, they adapt quite easily.
