Usually up at the swamp area, there will be all kinds of butterflies...this time it was only a couple different ones that gave me an opportunity to photograph them.
First this buckeye...
which I think is absolutely beautiful.
Then we have this beauty....
Unlike the Buckeye, I seldom see this particular kind of butterfly.
Going by the white mark on its wing, I think it is a Comma, but feel free to correct me if you know different. There is another one called a Question Mark but the marking is slightly different.
I don't know my butterflies well, so I will accept your id on this one. What I do know is that you got lovely pictures of both.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos. I love them ALL!! I think the Buckeye the best.

ReplyDeleteexcellent shots - and we have the Comma flutteries over here, so I can confirm your ID. The Buckeye is not one I know - very nice! YAM xx
Perfectly captured!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful. Believe it or not the only time I have been able to photograph a butterfly was when I found one dead. They never hold still long enough for me to even get the camera up.
ReplyDeleteMuito bonitas estas borboletas e aproveito para desejar a continuação de uma boa semana.

Yes, that's definitely a Comma, we have those over here too. It's a lot easier to identify by those ragged looking wings than by trying to see the little white mark. The Buckeye we do not see here - which is a pity as it's certainly a real beauty.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies. The Buckeye is my favorite. Wishing you a great day!
The Buckeye is gorgeous. I don't know butterflies and have seen these but I didn't know their name. I've never had luck photographing them. Enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteIt looks as if they posed for you. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteJust seeing your wonderful closeups of these beautiful insects is exhilarating. I am working on a post of some butterfly photos taken with an iPhone. No comparison, but fun for me.
