Thistle
I thought I had completely missed the opportunity to shoot any thistle this year. And even when I saw this today, I thought this is not going to be good. It was down a bank at the edge of a ditch. Probably 10-12 ft from where I sat. And no place to pull out of the road.
So, I sat in the car, and rolled down Roger's window and tried a few shots
.
I was quite happy with these results. Though there was a bunch lower down that did not get any results worth showing. Of course they were the ones with butterflies on them.
About the time I was stopping, this bumble bee flew into the frame.
Wow those pictures are wonderful. So clear and crisp.

These are wonderful. Amazing that they were taken through a car window from that far away and still came out so clear and crisp.
ReplyDeleteI always liked the look of thistle

ReplyDeleteVery neat! For overall effect, I find the first image the most pleasing to the eye, but getting the bee-bomber was definitely a bonus! YAM xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI like the pretty purple thistle, a pretty pop of color. Happy Friday, have a great weekend!
Nice images !! I like the light lavender shade here !
ReplyDeleteDevi :)
Your thistle shots are beautiful! Have a great day!
ReplyDeletethese are amazing and I don't think they could have been any better. I love that first one, they look like female models... the shapes of the cones and the purple hair.. gorgeous! you done Good!
ReplyDeleteToo cool! Love the bumble bee shot. I'm not sure if that is the same variety of thistle as in the mountains, so don't try this without research. The ones I'm familiar with are eatable and taste like celery. Just one of those crazy things I remember from camping.
ReplyDeleteYOu found beautiful light in which to capture the lovely details. Friendship
ReplyDeleteOh, the thistle is so lovely, Rose. And even prettier with a bumble bee visiting it. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a gentle weekend.

Sometimes we just have to take whatever we get in pictures. These great shots.
ReplyDeleteSplendid clarity and light captured in these shots of the thistle! Especially from so far away.
ReplyDeleteLovely nature shots. I like all three, but I think the middle one is best. I do not participate in Captcha verification, so if I am remembered I can continue to respond; if challenged I cannot.
ReplyDeleteAmazed that you took these from your vehicle. The first one is so intriguing and made think of a dance troupe. And i loved the bumble bee at work.
ReplyDeleteI love thistles. So much that I have a tattoo of a thistle with bees buzzing around it just above my right knee and off to the right a bit. Great pictures.
