Barn and farmhouse....

I thought I featured this barn  sometime recently but cannot find the post....either I forgot to label it or just never got around to posting it...but this was take just a few days ago.  You can barely see a picket fence on the far side.  This was taken as we traveled west.  Though it is not really a busy road, I am seldom on it when there isn't a vehicle coming up behind me.

We happened to come back by the farm on the way home, and this is the farmhouse.  I think I stopped to take the barn shot, but couldn't stop for these of the house, so you get what you get.

I would love to see inside the house.  I wonder if anyone lives there.  It definitely needs a new roof.

  1. These pictures are great, and do not look like you were driving. The home is beautiful, and the barn in good repair. In fact, when the roof leaks too much, they could move into the barn... Just sayin'..

  2. I love the painted barn. As I said before, it's rare to see a painted one here. It really looks well kept, so I think someone may be living there. I can imagine what it might look like inside.

  3. Nice barn and farmhouse. I used to dream of a house with big compound but no more because it would be difficult to maintain and take care. Contented with my small house with a small garden to keep me occupied.

  4. I bet someone does live there because both the house and the barn look to be in rather good condition. That barn looks pretty big. I wonder what they keep in there

  5. A fine old barn. I love the way that reddish paint contrasts with the greenery. We used to use that colour here at one time and I think it was called "red oxide", but I haven't seen it since I was a child.

  9. That’s an excellent shot of the barn. Looking at is I wonder of buildings have been added to it. I enjoy seeing the farm house. They are always interesting.

  12. wow, a painted barn!! We see so many of them that are just so weathered. I often wonder why the owner is not maintaining the building. So many of them just rot away.

  13. The red barn really stands out. The house does look like it needs a new roof, so maybe it is empty. No sign of life around.

  20. I missed being offline and not seeing your pictures. Nothing like propping my feet up, enjoying a hot cup of coffee and clicking around in circles on your blog.
