Wide and low...

I always wonder if barns built like this are mainly for storing farm equipment.

  1. A beautiful image of this barn. Probably equipment and hay in the top? I love taking pictures of barns.

  2. That has me wondering too. But, unless there are other overhead service doors on other facades of the barn, what we see is a fairly small service entry that may not accommodate all types of equipment. Nicely-textured facade with the peeled paint on the clapboard siding. A nice standout against the cloudless blue sky.

  3. Wow, this is gorgeous! It may be wide and low, but it looks like it still has a second floor, maybe a hay loft?

  7. Well now I'm wondering too if the different styles of barns are for different purposes or just because the person building them liked that style.

Definitely a hayloft up top... I love this image not just for the barn, but for the whole framing here - the pattern... YAM xx

  12. I like this point of view. A lovely barn. I think hay is stored in the upper level. Friendship

  14. Very nice shot. It looks like it was once painted white but the paint is fading.

  15. A beautiful barn with an impressive angle of the roof. That it may contain equipment is probably a good guess.

  17. It used to be for storing hay. That big upper door is the clue. These days maybe it's just for machinery.

  19. I wonder, because of the windows, if the barn might have once been a dairy. And the upper loft for hay. It is still a real beauty. The peeling white paint is really in style these days.
