There are two places-- one on each side of the Columbia River, about 20 miles south of us, where they hang out for a few weeks each year. I've never had the privilege of seeing them in flight.
They are extraordinary birds that we take rather for granted. I'm hoping to visit the swans that winter on the Fens, just north of here, at some time in the next week of two.
I love the picture! Are they residents there or just passing through?
