He is definitely handsome! Great capture! I will get two hawks hanging around in the trees when I mow the lawn, I'm thinking they are looking to see if I'll stir up any little critters.
The detail in this image is amazing. We live in the middle of our town but surrounded by woods . . . for now. We occasionally have hawks visit but I guess they prefer more open areas where they can dive for prey unobstructed. Our most fascinating hawk visitor lighted on a large tree branch in one of the trees and started devouring the squirrel he brought with him.
