We had a big tree cut down several years ago, and then a guy came a long and ground the stump up. A couple years later, we had two or three of these grow up in that area! That was the one and only time,
I normally can't tell one mushroom from another but isn't that a morel mushroom? I've never had them but have heard they are delicious. They sure are quite interesting looking and this is a great picture of it.
