From the Land of Lincoln

These are from the same farm over in Illinois...

I have always wondered about the story behind them.

  1. How unusual. I wonder if there is some meaning or if someone was just having some fun?

  2. Wow, this is very cool! I think the creature is either a wild turkey or a dinosaur.

I do know that there is some tradition of painting barns decoratively over your way... these look like mandalas, but I guess are more likely to be influenced by first nations traditions? YAM xx

  14. I can't decide whether the creature is a dinosaur or a huge turkey. The complex hex signs show evidence of greater artistic talent

  15. Interesting finds on the barns that aren't quilts but have more of a southwestern design "flair"!

  16. I have never seen round barn quilts before. I like these. That's the first dinosaur I've ever seen painted on a barn too.

  17. How interesting. Yes, it would be nice to know the story behind them, wouldn't it? Is it just a design, or do they mean something, hmmmm.
