Notice:
I wanted to give notice that I will be going to full moderation of comments. That means your comments won't show up till I have time to moderate them. I have been getting some very nasty comments from Anonymous. Funny thing they don't really bother me...I just hate for people that come here to see such hate in the comments. I don't like giving someone like that a platform.

Now to the photo for today....
Don't you just love him! I couldn't believe that this Northern Bobwhite was on top of this big round bail of hay.
What a fabulous surprise! He's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to share at My Corner of the World
As you know, Rose, I have had to do the same with Comments as I don't want to expose others to that type of nastiness.
ReplyDeleteThat bird certainly has you in his sights. Nature is so beautiful :)
So cute! What a little bird for such a huge nest. Wonderful capture! So sorry you have to go to moderation, I can't understand how ANYONE could dislike you enough to do this. There are always those who want to spoil a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos, they always cheer me up.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the nasty comments, and I think you are right in barring them.
What a great picture! I can't imagine why someone would post hateful things. Spam I understand, and I block those who do it. But hate? Bad craziness.
ReplyDeleteWhen the straw that is baled up is a little damp it gets some form of mould in the bale which causes them to give off heat. Our pheasants can often be seen on top of the bales, especially on a chilly autumn morning. I would guess that Bobwhites have also learned the trick. I had a couple of contributions, probably from the same Anonymous, which I promptly deleted and he/she now seems to have moved on.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome photo. Looks like he's posing for you.
ReplyDeleteI saw the annonymous comment and one similar on another blog. A long time ago I stopped allowing annonymous comments because of something similar.
He is at the right place to get the best view of whats going on around him.

ReplyDeleteLove the shot.
Yes, noted that Anon comment the other day. Good move in the short term. But are you aware that you can select to have only Google commenters also? That stops Anon entering from anywhere. Also, in your comments section on the dashboard, you can select to spam such comments. Doing this consistently alerts the Google security algorithm and it really helps to cut them down. It is more effective than just deleting them. Forgive, if you already know this! YAM xx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteLove the Bobwhite, what a great sighting. I have always moderated my comments. Take care! Wishing you a happy day!
He looks as if he is on top of the world!! Fantastic !!
ReplyDeleteSaw your note on the "nasty Comments."
I never knew there were " morons" here ! Well..it takes all sorts to make this world!
I have not seen or heard a bobwhite in many years, used to hear them in Savannah a lot.. but not in FL. I have not seen your nasty comments.
ReplyDeleteA fine close up of this pretty bird. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI a sorry to hear about the unwanted comments. this is a delightful image. It makes me happy seeing it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great capture.
ReplyDeleteHe looks right at home there.
I've gotten some of those nasty comments too!!
A real beauty with eye-catching plumage! Great capture!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. I have not seen a Bobwhite in a long time. I always loved to hear their call.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the comments you were getting, as I do not always read all comments, but it's sad that someone has to do that. They must be a coward and a sad person.
Lovely picture. I have gone to full moderation of comments as well, for that very same reason.
ReplyDeleteA sweet bird and lovely warm light. A superb capture.
ReplyDeleteindeed... it was nice to relieve you of the need to get down on your knees. it also works well to feature him against the sky
ReplyDeleteRight Place/Right Time to catch that photo!! I have moderated comments for almost the entire time I have blogged. Lots of Bots out there and of course people that just want to be nasty.
ReplyDeleteStay well
xx, Carol
