A bit more rust from Patton's Corner. Look at all those uncovered gears and chains...when I see this I wonder how many accidents happened...how many fingers were lost in repair work...trying to do stuff quickly without stopping.
Yes, people may mock Health & Safety legislation but it's better to have all your digits. I love the textures and colour of rusty metal, though it's getting harder and harder to find such items around here - at one time every farmyard track was overflowing with it.
I know exactly what you are talking about--- about 40 years ago I lost an argument to a lawn mower! It taught me to be much more careful-- and that's useful now. Stay well.
There is something about rust that just makes for a wonderful photo. I never considered the danger that might have been involved with this but now that you mention it I can see that would have been a great possibility.
my first wonder is who could dream up the complex gearing and drives; my second thought is who could keep something like that working; and my thirs is yours- how many fingers were lost.
I shudder to think of it. :(

ReplyDeleteI have to say that there is something about rust that seems to make for a wonderful photograph … perhaps it's the colour … I'm not sure!
