  1. This one is a lovey color. We have dug them up from fields and railroad tracks, and planted them in our yard.

  2. My mom always had hollyhocks. They were out by the old rock washhouse...they and the bumblebees. I just planted a couple of plants this week.

  3. My grandmother used to have hollyhocks, but I haven't seen many since. I like the blooms, but I always thought they were too tall and spindley

  8. The trouble with Hollyhocks is that everyone wants to grow them alongside a wall, but the flowers always hang out away from the wall, seeking sunlight. They are beautiful flowers though.

  13. Hollyhocks are such romantic flowers, with their association to old cottage gardens. They don't seem to like the climate in our local area as they always end up horribly disfigured with rust.

  14. I agree. Hollyhocks are right there at the top of my list, but currently don’t have any. My Mom used to have a large patch of them.
