Allium--from today

These were taken this morning with my phone.  I have wanted Alliums for a long time and finally got some last fall.  Then, this spring we have had several pretty hard frosts, but still they have survived.

  1. I like Alliums! How many did you get? They are a member of the onion family. This makes me think they are easy to grow, yet I never see any around.

  3. The color is so beautiful and there's something about tiny leaves (?) that I really like. I have some seeds that I can't wait to plant.

  6. Oh how pretty. They must be rather hardy too to have survived the frosts. I can see why you have wanted them

  8. I'm surprised that you have commenters who are not familiar with these as they're very commonly grown in the UK. People I've spoken to either love them or hate them and there seems to be no middle ground. Me, I like them.

  20. never saw an Allium before, but these are lovely. the color is great. the bud sticking out in the top shot suffers from focus issues, but the real issue is that it is closer which confuses the eye.
