It's pretty. I love sunflowers. When my husband was filling bird feeders, I always had these growing underneath them courtesty of the birds. They were small ones but they were pretty.
"Volunteer" seems to be an American expression, though it is catching on here too. We always used to call them "self-sets", though I don't think I've ever had a sunflower appear by that means.
Which one of these would volunteer to grow in our yard I've never had a sunflower growing and I sure would love to have one because I love daisies and sunflowers those are my favorite flowers
So pretty and such happy flowers. I would be happy if one of mine survive. Planted so many of them and the chipmunks dug them up. I saw a bird pecking at the little seedlings to though. Sunflowers here are still small and won't be blooming for quite a while yet.
Now I'm reminded of my mom! Thank you so much dearest Rose. This is my mom's favorite flower! And whenever I see one even through pictures or paintings, it reminds me that mom is with me :) Happy Weekend!
Rose, I think this is the pretties sunflower photo I've ever seen, really.
