Butterflies from the archives...

Again I am resorting to the archives.    These are from July 2010.

I definitely need to get some plants that attract butterflies.  I only see one very occasionally in the yard.  I guess they miss the patch of cone flowers I usually have.

  3. Wow! Beautiful butterflies. I cut down the flowering plants in my garden and now I seldom get to see butterflies too.

  13. I don't have any plants that they like. I see them in the field but can't manage to chase them down for a shot.

  16. These are magnificent butterfly images. Early this spring I bought a 5 ft. by 5 ft. elevated planter box and then only bought flowers that attracted bees and butterflies. Most of the planter box is filled with cone flowers and some Black Eyed Susan's and other type daisies. I only bought flowers that are indigenous to to whee I live. I have gotten a lot of bees and am just starting to get butterflies. It has been a fun project.

  17. That first one is so beautiful. The second one is the exact same butterfly that I saw on one of my drives in the country. I saw 3 white butterflies recently in 3 days. I've never seen a white butterfly, so it was a pleasant surprise. : )
