Another item that I thought was beautiful, but I left it at the flea market. but I was tempted to buy it for one of my daughters. I just wasn't sure if either one would like it.
it is so beautiful, in my case, i love it but don't want it. you made the right decision. it is hard to buy for others. so many things i see, i think are wonderful but that doesn't mean i want it.. photos are great, we have it but don't have to dust it
It's very pretty. I think I would be the same way. I might be tempted to buy it for my daughter but I doubt she would like it. It would probably end up in a cupboard somewhere.
it's a wonderful crystal dish Rose... we don't buy things like this for our sons families... we still have silver serving trays and crystal bowls in boxes that we will never use....peter:)
When my wife's parents passed, she and her siblings had to deal with LOTS that they didn't want to discard (sell, donate or trash) but didn't really want or have room for. We all realized that we already have more than our children want. We all vowed to simplify, but I haven't seen any concrete actions toward that.
That said, this is a lovely bowl in a very old style, and you did a nice job with glass on a dark background.
This is beautiful! These were really popular when my grandmother was a young woman so maybe in the 1920's or 1930's? I remember her having one that looked somewhat similar.
Oh, I like that, Rose. My mother-in-law has one similar, but it's emerald green, and I always admired it whenever I visited her. You can put many things in this one, as it's just the right size. Great for the holidays.
I used to have one like this! I wonder what happened to it...
ReplyDeleteIt is so pretty I don't think I could have walked away from it!
ReplyDeleteHurray for pictures in times like that. 🙂
ReplyDeleteSomething for more formal times, I think. Still, it is a lovely piece.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a beautiful glass bowl too.
ReplyDeleteHow would they NOT like it? It's stunning!!

ReplyDeleteLOL - I'm with Sandra on this one! YAM xx
I agree completely with what Sandra said. I think photos of things like that are better than the item itself.
ReplyDeleteThis would be pretty filled with fruit.
ReplyDeleteLovely cut glass.

ReplyDeleteLooks very pretty!! Can keep some fruits and place it on a dining table!

ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful piece. Many young people are not interested in our china, silver or other dishes these days.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great glass piece. I don't think I have seen one quite like it.
